Welcome
for a round tour in Forsbacka
Forsbacka
Marine
Storsjön which means "The Great Lake",
is an important part for many people living here
in Forsbacka.
Many people both fish in the summer as well as in
the winter. And there are plenty of fish in the
lake.
The great lake was once one of Swedens greatest
Crayfish waters, but for some strange reason they
all disappeared a few years ago of a mystical
disease.
Forsbacka´s Yatclub is very active summertime.
They hold various boat competitions every other
Saturday along with other activities at the club
cottage on Dalkulla, which is a little island in
the Storsjön. |

Konsum Forsbacka
Konsum is the title of a chain-store cooperation
here in Sweden with stores all over the country.
This littel store opened for the first time back
in 1921. It is still a private company owned by
the people. Because the faithful villagers buy
from the store, they received a certain
percentage back at the end of the year. In fact
Forsbacka is still one of the highest repayed
stores in Sweden.
Forsback´s Konsum manages a little postoffice
and a pickup of medicine that the villagers need. |
Storgatan
Storgatan with its woodened avenue is the main
street in Forsbacka. Along a section of the
avenue lays some of the old workers homes. They
were built under several different periods during
the 1800´s. It was first in the 50´s that water
and outlets for santitorial purposes were drawn
into the homes. Today the building are rebuilt
and fixed to comfortable flats. |

and the school, are most likely the oldest worker
homes in Forsbacka.
