Pictures from the old industry in Forsbacka

A brief history
From the 1770s, the Nordin family owned the industrial estate until Forsbacka Industry AB was estabished 1870. The industrial establishment of Forsbacka Industry turned the old estate into a modern industry. In 1901 the martin-mill was built along with another rolling mill. The whole foundation was modernized and in 1915 there was four masfurnaces, four rostfurnaces along with two Bessemerconverters running. The summit for the estate came during the 1940s when Forsbacka had close to 1000 employees. In 1929 the Forsbacka estate incorporated in Fagerstaconcern and after 1945 the beginning of the end for the industry. The activity that goes on today inside the gates continues running Fundia Steelsevice and employs approximately 50 workers.
